Christmas pudding is a type of pudding traditionally served as part of the Christmas dinner in Britain, Ireland and in other countries where it has been brought by British and Irish immigrants.
• Why do you set fire to a Christmas pudding?
Stand the pudding in the bottom of a large pan and add boiling water until it comes halfway up the pudding basin. Put the lid on the pan and simmer gently for 60 minutes. For mini puddings, simmer gently for 30 minutes. Remove the pudding from the water.
