Scotch eggs


A signature of Jones Wood Foundry

Semi hard boiled egg with the shell removed, wrapped in a blend of house made chorizo and breakfast sausage, then bread crumbed and deep fried. served with tartar sauce.

Cooking instructions:
Put approx 2 quarts of vegetable oil into a pot. Heat on stove to 350 f, carefully place egg into oil using a slatted spoon. lower the heat a little to maintain the temperature. Allow egg to fry for 6 1/2 - 7 mins. When ready remove from oil and place onto a kitchen paper towel to absorb any excess oil. Turn off the heat from cooking pot then using a created knife cut egg in half length ways and serve with tartar sauce.

cooking oil maybe used again if strained through a fine messed sieve and stored in an airtight container.
