Anterra, Veneto, Italy
Tasting Notes: Anterra, or “ancient land” in Italian, refers to the long, rich viticultural history of the peninsula. A keystone in winemaking and wine trading since ancient times, Italy has refined its viticulture over the centuries. Tapping into the vast knowledge bestowed by their ancestors, Anterra’s creators have made winemaking an art form. Cultivated from the vineyards in Sicily, this Pinot Grigio is dry in flavor and has a pleasant and delicate bouquet with fruity and floral notes.
Serve With: It is excellent with appetizers, flavorful soups, poultry and seafood: particularly shellfish. Enjoy!
The Blanchard & Lurton, Argentina
Tasting Notes: 12% One of the most prolific winemaking families in the world is the Lurton’s. After receiving several famous Chateaux in Bordeaux, Francois Lurton turned away from his Bordelais path and started making remarkable wine across South America’s heritage vineyards. With “Les Fous,” Lurton partnered with fourth generation winemaker Andres Blanchard on an ambitious project to create Argentina’s first and only winery to focus solely on white wines. The 2020 Sauvingon Blanc/Semillon comes from a single vineyard site in Chacayes, a high elevation site in the Uco Valley where vines age 25+ years. The alluvial soils are chalky, created by a mountain river that once flowed through the Andes. The arid conditions create a temperature amplitude that imparts delicate floral and citrus notes, with a light to medium-bodied palate with amazing natural acidity. If you’re a big fan of white Bordeaux, you’re going to love Les Fous!
